West Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak and INTTUC State President Ritabrata Banerjee joined the Trinamool Tea Workers' Organization protest in front of Union Minister John Barla's house as their demands had not been met. The organization is raising a 4-point demand for tea workers and accused the tea workers' PF of being used corruptly.

Workers and supporters from the Jalpaiguri INTTUC and Trinamool Congress tea garden Workers Union have been sitting in front of Barla's house since morning. The organization has raised various issues, including retiring workers in five years and stopping the stipend money for students of the tea garden. To prevent any violence, a large police force has been deployed.

According to reports, the protest will continue until today, and INTTUC District President Rajesh Lakra is present at the demonstration. Other attendees include Raju Gurung, Tabarak Ali, Suju Chhatri, and Sanjay Kuzur, a member of the Central Committee of the Trinamool Congress Tea Garden Workers Union.

The incident has caused a political stir in Banarhat, with tensions rising. Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman had previously announced a package of 1,000 crores for the overall development of tea workers in the budget, which the organization alleges has been corruptly used.
